The transmission cooler is a very important component for increased longevity transmission that is running over 200 degrees all the time is in distress and it’s not uncommon. Many of the newer vehicles have tiny little heat exchangers for transmission coolers. They are too small and performance suffers. An operating temperature under 200 degrees is optimal. Often times you will have to add an auxiliary transmission cooler in order to obtain a desired operating temperature.
If your transmission cooler is inside your radiator and your engine is overheating, guess what? You guessed it! Your transmission is overheating too! Get your radiator replaced before it causes damage to your transmission.
